Tripura, 7 April 2025: A Bangladeshi drone was recovered around 300 meters inside Indian territory at Ballamukha, a village near the India-Bangladesh border in South Tripura district.
The drone was found lying in a paddy field early in the morning, causing panic and curiosity among the local residents. According to reports, locals noticed the drone around 7 AM while working in their fields and immediately informed the police. The location is barely two kilometers from the Bangladesh border.
Resident Sadhan Majumder said they were startled to see such an object and suspected it might have come from across the border. Upon receiving the information, a team from Bilonia Police Station reached the spot and seized the drone.
Border Security Force (BSF) personnel also arrived shortly after and initiated an investigation. Police officers Swapan Sen stated that, based on preliminary inquiry, locals had seen the drone hovering in the area for the past few days.
The Tripura police, along with BSF, suspect the drone might have entered Indian airspace from Bangladesh, though a thorough probe is currently underway.
