Tripura, 01 April 2025: A major drug bust took place involving Ecom Express, a courier company that delivers various goods from the state to buyers in other states via Flipkart. Acting on a tip-off, the RPF and GRPF conducted a joint search operation on one of the company’s vehicles.
During the search, a large quantity of cannabis was recovered from the vehicle. A total of 59 kg of cannabis was found packed in 26 packets inside six cartons. The estimated market value of the seized contraband is around ₹6 lakh.
Following the seizure, authorities detained three individuals, including the manager of the courier company. Confirming the incident, RPF official Binod Kumar Sinha stated that the contraband was transported from a courier facility in RK Nagar, owned by a Kolkata-based individual.
The consignment was intended to be sent via rail from Agartala railway station to Sahil in Delhi and Kunal Kumar in Patna. He further added that an investigation is underway to identify others involved in the trafficking network.
