Agartala, September 27, 2024: In a significant development, the Tripura Cabinet has approved the recruitment of 1,267 positions across various departments and the creation of 193 new posts. Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury announced the decisions during a press conference at the Secretariat today.
Among the key decisions, 194 Forest Guards will be recruited under the Forest Department, and the process for these recruitments will begin soon. Additionally, 254 vacancies across various categories in the Revenue Department (Group-C) will be filled. These positions include 14 Revenue Inspectors, 10 Junior Surveyors, 164 Tehsildars, 37 Moharars, and 29 Amin posts.
The minister also informed that the Cabinet has approved the recruitment of one Programmer (Group-B, Non-Gazetted) and two Assistant Programmers (Group-C, Non-Gazetted) under the Election Department. These posts will be filled through the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC). Furthermore, 12 Multi-Tasking Staff (Peons) will be recruited for the Finance Department.
For the Home Department, the Cabinet approved the recruitment of 218 Sub-Inspectors (male and female), which will also be conducted through TPSC. Additionally, 19 drivers will be recruited under the GA & SA Department, along with 88 Multi-Tasking Staff (Group-D).
The Education Department will see the recruitment of 352 Pre-Primary Teachers, which will be completed through the Teachers’ Recruitment Board, Tripura (TRBT). Moreover, 125 school librarian posts will be filled, and the Cabinet has approved the creation of 118 Post Graduate Teacher (Computer Science) positions. Minister Chowdhury also mentioned that the Youth Affairs and Sports Department will reinstate 75 Junior Physical Instructors.
In another major decision, the Cabinet has approved a special Durga Puja package for ration cardholders across the state. Under this initiative, 9,83,000 ration cardholders will receive 1 kg of sugar, 2 kg of flour, and 500 grams of semolina free of cost. This distribution, set to begin in the first week of October, will cost the state approximately ₹6.84 crores. Minister Chowdhury noted that the department regularly provides subsidized goods to ration cardholders during festive seasons.
