Amtali, Sep 26: Out of six accused in the Shubhankar Saha murder case, four have been arrested by Amtali Police. Two suspects were apprehended last night.
On September 17, in the Kanchan Nagar area, Shubhankar Saha was attacked by six individuals with sharp weapons. He succumbed to his injuries at GB Hospital on September 18. Following the incident, police registered a case and arrested Bapan Chakraborty on September 18. Two more were later arrested.
On Wednesday, police arrested two more suspects, Shantanu Sen and Jayanta Debnath, based on a tip-off.
Amtali Police OC Smriti Kantha Bardhan, in a press conference on Thursday, confirmed that five of the accused are in custody, with one in judicial custody and four in police custody. Efforts are underway to apprehend the final accused.
