Agartala 23 Sep (News), 2024 : Tripura has a conducive environment for industrial development, according to Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha. He made this statement while inaugurating the two-day ‘Tripura Rubber Conclave 2024’ at a private hotel in Agartala today. The Chief Minister emphasized that Tripura has now become a significant destination for investors.
During the conclave, several successful entrepreneurs in the rubber industry shared their experiences. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also unveiled a book titled ‘Transforming Tripura: The Land of Opportunities.’ Additionally, a documentary on the development of the rubber industry in Tripura was screened.
The Chief Minister highlighted that Tripura ranks second in the country for rubber production, contributing 9% to India’s total rubber output. He also mentioned that the quality of Tripura’s rubber is recognized globally and that the state’s natural resources present vast opportunities for industrial growth.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister announced the establishment of a second rubber park in Shantirbazar, following the one in Bodhjungnagar. He also noted the production of high-quality furniture from rubberwood, which is being exported in addition to being used domestically. The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s efforts to attract investors to sectors like rubber, bamboo, and food processing, stressing the importance of creating an industry-friendly environment in the state.
The event was attended by Minister of Industries & Commerce Santana Chakma, Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, Secretary of Industries Kiran Gitte, and Chairman of Tripura Industrial Development Corporation Nabadal Banik, among others.
