Agartala, September 24, 2024: A total of 37 villages across six blocks in North Tripura district have been selected under the PM-Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan. Various development initiatives will be implemented in these villages as part of the campaign. North Tripura District Magistrate and Collector, Debapriya Bardhan, shared this information during a press conference yesterday.
The District Magistrate, while addressing the press conference via video conferencing, mentioned that the PM-Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan was recently approved by the Union Cabinet. Villages with a minimum population of 500, where at least 50% of the population belongs to tribal communities, will be included under this scheme.
For these villages, 25 services and schemes across 17 departments will be implemented, focusing on infrastructure development and improving livelihoods. Key initiatives include housing, road construction, drinking water supply, solar power, skill development training, internet facilities, LPG gas connections, and programs related to agriculture, horticulture, fisheries, animal husbandry, and forest-based activities.
Additional District Magistrates Biplab Das and L. Darloing were also present during the press conference.
