Sonamura/Bishalgarh 14 Sep, 2024: To maintain peace and security in the border areas, the Sipahijala district administration has imposed restrictions under BNSS Section 163 on public movement along the Indo-Bangladesh border in Sonamura and Bishalgarh subdivisions. According to the order issued by the District Magistrate, movement within 500 meters of the border is restricted from 8 PM to 5 AM daily. These restrictions will be in effect from today until December 12, 2024.

The order specifies that personnel engaged in law enforcement, military/paramilitary forces, and state police, as well as government employees on emergency duty, individuals with special permission from the district authorities, and patients requiring immediate medical attention, will be exempt from these restrictions.

Strict legal action will be taken against those who violate the order, as per the District Magistrate.
