Agartala 6 Sep, 2024: In a heated session of the Tripura Legislative Assembly, MLA Sudip Roy Barman raised serious allegations against Minister Bikash Debbarma. He claimed that a petrol pump in Teliamura is registered in the name of the Minister’s wife, while another petrol pump in Khowai is in the name of his son. Additionally, he alleged that the Minister has acquired a flat in Delhi and constructed multiple multi-story buildings in the state.
MLA Sudhip Roy Barman also pointed out significant construction work on the Baramura near road Privet resort and accused the Minister of misappropriating funds meant for the development of indigenous communities. He stated, “Funds allocated for the development of indigenous people are being looted.”
In response to these allegations, Minister Bikash Debbarma countered, saying, “My son is studying diploma engineering. Can he not do business?”
