Tripura 1 September 2024: The District Magistrate of West Tripura, Dr. Vishal Kumar, has announced an extension of restrictions under Section 144 of the Indian Penal Code to maintain peace, safety, and harmony in the district. These restrictions apply to the public’s movement and activities in various areas.
The order, which comes into effect from 1 AM on September 2, 2024, will remain in force until 6 PM on September 5, 2024. The directive prohibits the assembly of more than four people and the movement of individuals without valid reasons in the restricted areas. It also restricts certain activities to ensure public safety.
Furthermore, the order specifies that individuals involved in essential government work, including police officers, paramilitary forces, and officials on duty, are exempt from these restrictions. However, those violating the order will be subject to strict legal action under Section 188 of the IPC.
