Agartala, September 1: A new Air India Express flight was officially launched from Agartala’s Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport on Sunday morning. The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of Agartala Airport Director K.C. Meena, Airport Manager Smita Prakash, and other officials from Air India Express.
The inaugural ceremony began with a traditional lamp-lighting and cake-cutting event inside the airport premises, marking the commencement of the new flight operations. The first Air India Express flight took off from Agartala to Kolkata with 140 passengers on board, marking the start of its journey.
Air India Express will operate on multiple routes from Agartala, including Agartala to Kolkata, Agartala to Guwahati, and Kolkata to Delhi. The new service is expected to improve connectivity and provide better travel options for passengers traveling from Tripura and its neighboring regions.
The launch of this new flight is seen as a significant step in enhancing air connectivity and boosting regional tourism and business travel.
