Bishramganj, 19 August, 2024: Tragedy struck the quiet village of Madhyapara in Barjala Panchayat as Dhanu Ranjan Biswas, a resident of the area, succumbed to dengue on Monday morning at Agartala’s GBP Hospital. The young man’s death has left the entire village in mourning, with family members inconsolable over the sudden loss.
Dhanu Ranjan, who was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of GBP Hospital after being diagnosed with dengue, passed away despite the medical team’s best efforts. His death has raised concerns about the increasing threat of dengue in the region, as well as the readiness of local healthcare facilities to handle such cases.
The grief-stricken family, consisting of his wife, Swapna Biswas, and their 10-year-old son, Abhijit Biswas, is struggling to come to terms with the loss. As Dhanu Ranjan’s body was brought back to Bishramganj’s Barjala area on Monday afternoon, the entire village gathered to pay their respects. The atmosphere was thick with sorrow as villagers joined the family in their time of grief.
The Biswas family, now facing an uncertain future, has appealed for support as they cope with this unimaginable tragedy. The incident has also sparked demands for better preventive measures and medical facilities to combat dengue and other vector-borne diseases in the area.
