Panisagar, August 7, 2024: A preparatory meeting was held today in Panisagar Subdivision ahead of the 78th Independence Day celebrations. The meeting took place in the conference room of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s office, presided over by SDM Sushanta Debbarma. Among those present were Panisagar Sub-Divisional Police Officer Soumya Debbarma, Damcherra Block BDO Anupam Chakma, DC Dibakar Jamatia, various department officials, and representatives from local cultural and social organizations.
During the meeting, it was decided that Independence Day will be celebrated with various programs from August 13 to August 15. The main event on August 15 will take place at the Panisagar Panchayat Samiti office premises, where the national flag will be ceremonially hoisted. This will be followed by a parade and cultural performances by students from different schools.
Other activities planned for the occasion include a cleanliness drive at government institutions and public places, a Tiranga rally, the distribution of fruits and sweets to patients at healthcare centers, and various sports competitions. Additionally, evening cultural programs will be held at the town hall on August 14 and 15.
SDM Sushanta Debbarma urged everyone to cooperate fully to ensure the smooth execution of the Independence Day celebrations.
This year’s Independence Day is expected to be celebrated with renewed enthusiasm and spirit in Panisagar Subdivision.
