Jharkhand, July 30: A tragic train accident occurred on Tuesday morning between Rajkharsawan and Barabamboo stations in Jharkhand’s Chakradharpur division, resulting in the derailment of 18 coaches of the Howrah-Mumbai Mail near Potobera village. The incident led to the death of two individuals and left 50 others injured. According to railway sources, one person sustained severe injuries while four others were reported to have minor injuries.
Rescue operations are ongoing, and during these efforts, the bodies of two passengers were recovered from the B-Four coach. The injured passengers have been transported to local hospitals for treatment.
In response to this unfortunate event, the Ministry of Railways has announced compensation for the victims’ families. The families of the deceased will receive Rs. 10 lakh, those severely injured will be granted Rs. 5 lakh, and individuals with minor injuries will receive Rs. 1 lakh.
Further investigations are underway to determine the cause of the derailment, and authorities are working diligently to restore normalcy on the affected railway route.
