On July 25, 2024, Thursday, the city of Agartala will witness an extraordinary evening titled “A Wordy Evening: The Confluence of Plains and Hills,” a collaborative initiative by Tripura Publishers Guild and Writers World (West Bengal). This unique literary event will take place at Dakshini Bhavan, Tripura Rabindra Parishad, starting at 6:30 PM.
Under the leadership of poet Surangama Bhattacharya, a group of esteemed poets, writers, and singers from West Bengal and Assam will join hands with invited poets and writers from Tripura for an evening filled with poetry recitations, storytelling, discussions, and music.
The West Bengal delegation includes poets and writers such as Sumitava Ghoshal, Anik Rudra, Sarthak Raychowdhury, Kanailal Jana, Mita Das Purkayastha, Bishwarupa Purkayastha, and Madhurima Gangopadhyay. From Tripura, notable invited poets and writers include Ratul Debbarma, Rameshwar Bhattacharya, Dilip Das, Pallab Bhattacharya, Akbar Ahmed, Asit Debbarma, Madhusudan Debbarma, S. Khelamohan Sen, Khokon Saha, and Dipanwita Sengupta.
The evening will commence with an inaugural song performance by the artists of Tripura Rabindra Parishad. The event will be anchored by renowned elocutionist and poet Kakoli Gangopadhyay.
