Jirania 12 June 2024: In a significant boost to rural livelihoods, the Chief Minister’s Livestock Development Yojana has extended its benefits to 1,228 families in the Jirania Sub-division, enabling them to raise chickens. This initiative aims to enhance income and promote sustainable farming practices among the rural populace.
The aid has been distributed as follows: 405 families in the Old Agartala block, 205 families in the Jirania block, 306 families in the Belbari block, and 312 families in the Mandai block. Each family has received support in the form of chicks, feed, and technical guidance to successfully rear poultry.
The total expenditure for this phase of the scheme is 15 lakh 96 thousand 400 rupees. This funding has facilitated the distribution of essential resources for poultry-rearing, fostering economic growth and self-reliance in the beneficiary communities.
Local officials highlighted that the scheme not only provides immediate economic relief but also lays the groundwork for sustained agricultural productivity and rural development. Beneficiaries have expressed their gratitude, noting the positive impact on their income and quality of life.
