Agartala, 25th May 2024: Police of GRP police station arrested two suspects at Agartala railway station at 10:45 pm on Friday night. A sophisticated US-made nine mm pistol, two empty magazines, two mobile phones and cash were recovered from the bag of Priya Devvarma (22), who was caught during the search. The name of the youth is Karan Debvarma (24). Their home is in Khowai district of Tripura.
According to the police, they were nabbed on a tip-off and arrested under the Arms Act. Today Saturday, they will be produced in the court and the application for 7 days police remand will be given.
The incident has created a sensation in the area and police investigation is on. As part of the investigation, Priya and Karan will be looked into for possible terrorist links or involvement in criminal activities. The police also said that efforts are on to find out whether any big gang is involved behind the smuggling of illegal arms.
