News 29-08-23: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, who has been tirelessly working towards ensuring the success of the BJP in the upcoming September 5 by-elections for the Boxanagar (No-20) and Dhanpur (No-23) assembly constituencies, has expressed optimism about the party’s prospects. In a series of meetings held across various parts of Boxanagar, Dr. Saha confidently predicted that the BJP will emerge victorious in both of these assembly seats. He emphasized that the opposition’s attempts to raise concerns about violence and terror are unfounded, as there has not been a single incident of violence throughout the campaign.
Addressing the campaign, Chief Minister Manik Saha stated, “We strongly condemn violence and do not support any individual involved in such acts. Those engaging in violent activities will be dealt with according to the law. The elections will be conducted peacefully, and strict law and order will be maintained.” He added that the opposition’s claims of violence are merely a response to their anticipated defeat, and the people will vote based on their own experiences.
During his campaign, Chief Minister Saha covered the entire Boxanagar constituency, meeting with various sections of the population, including ‘Madrasa’ teachers. He urged all to cast their votes in favor of the BJP candidate Tofazzel Hossain, highlighting that while Tofazzel is the candidate, the party symbol holds greater significance. He reminded voters of the extended rule of the CPI (M) party and the state of development during their tenure, emphasizing the BJP’s commitment to peace, harmony, and development.
Additionally, the Chief Minister convened a meeting with tribal voters in the Dhanirampur area, where he, along with former Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarma and party MP (East Tripura) Rebati Tripura, encouraged voters to support the BJP candidate. With confidence in the party’s vision, Dr. Manik Saha called for the people’s trust and assured that if given a chance, the state government will work diligently to foster development within the constituency.
