In a gruesome incident that rocked Agartala, the capital city of Tripura, a 15-year-old housewife was murdered and her body was allegedly cut into two pieces by her 24-year-old husband Qayyum Mia. The deceased’s name is Tajuja Begum.
The incident took place in Ahariya area on Friday. The bodies were found packed in two packets inside a septic tank behind the couple’s home. Seeing them missing, the locals suspected and informed the police.
The victim’s mother and brother went to Tajuja’s house and saw blood stains, but no one was there. Later the accused confessed to killing his wife with a sharp weapon and dismembering the body. Preliminary investigation revealed that Qayyum Mia was a drug addict and had been abusing his wife physically and mentally since their marriage eight months ago.
Based on the complaint of the victim’s parents, the police filed a murder case as the plaintiff. The accused was arrested and sent to judicial custody. The local people are shocked by this incident and they have demanded strict punishment of the accused.
