Khumulwng, June 28, 2024: The Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) session today unanimously passed three bills following extensive discussions. The bills aim to enhance the governance and administrative framework within the tribal areas.
The approved bills are:
- Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District (Establishment of Village Committee) (8th Amendment) Act, 2024: This act aims to streamline the process for establishing village committees in the tribal areas, ensuring better governance and transparency.
- Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (Constitution, Election, and Conduct of Business) (21st Amendment) Rules, 2024: This amendment focuses on improving the electoral process and administrative operations of the TTAADC.
- Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Trade (License and Control) (1st Amendment) Rules, 2022: This amendment proposes changes to the licensing and regulation of businesses within the autonomous district.
In the same session, two bills were withdrawn:
- Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (Constitution, Election, and Conduct of Business) (21st Amendment) Rules, 2022.
- Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (Salaries, Allowances, and Other Benefits of the Chairman, Chief Executive Member, Executives, and Leader of Opposition and Salaries, Allowances, and Pension of Members) (13th Amendment) Rules, 2022.
Additionally, two bills were referred to the Select Committee for further examination:
- Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (Administration of Justice) Rules, 2022.
- Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council Land (Allotment and Use) Act, 2022.
