Mohanpur, June 27, 2024 — In a recent procurement drive, the Mohanpur sub-division food warehouse has successfully purchased 184 metric tons of paddy from local farmers. The purchase, conducted at the minimum support price (MSP) of 21 taka 83 paisa per kilogram, involved 146 farmers from the Mohinipur paddy buying center.
The initiative aims to support local farmers by ensuring a fair price for their produce. The procurement drive has been well-received by the farming community, with 117 farmers participating in the sale process at the warehouse.
In addition, paddy procurement is ongoing at the Berimura Higher Secondary School premises in the Bamutia block of the sub-division. This center will continue to purchase paddy at the MSP until tomorrow, providing another opportunity for farmers to sell their produce at a guaranteed price.
An official from the Mohanpur sub-division’s food, public procurement, and consumer interest office confirmed the successful procurement efforts. These measures are part of the government’s broader initiative to support agricultural productivity and ensure the economic well-being of farmers in the region.
