Agartala, May 26, 2024: All vehicle services from Radhanagar bus stand have been suspended today, causing significant inconvenience to passengers, following an alleged assault on a driver.
According to eyewitnesses, driver Rajib Chakraborty was attacked by parking operator Asim Das last night while Rajib was sleeping at the bus stand after completing his shift. Asim Das, reportedly intoxicated, physically assaulted Rajib, causing a head injury.
Upon learning about the incident this morning, fellow workers gathered at the bus stand and halted all services in protest. They took the injured Rajib Chakraborty to the West Agartala Police Station, where they staged a demonstration demanding the arrest of Asim Das.
This incident has left many passengers stranded and frustrated. Commuters were unable to reach their destinations, leading to widespread disruption.
The West Agartala Police stated that they are investigating the matter and will take necessary action against the accused.
Local residents are urging the authorities to resolve the issue promptly to alleviate the passengers’ suffering.
