Tripura 01 May, 2024: Amidst a growing crisis of fuel scarcity, Tripura state has initiated rationing measures for petrol and diesel, announced by the Department of Food and Consumer Affairs. Effective May 1st, individuals operating bikes and three-wheeled vehicles will be allowed a daily purchase limit of 200 rupees worth of petrol, while those with four-wheeled vehicles can purchase up to 500 rupees worth of petrol per day.
For diesel, rationing extends to lorries with 12 wheels, permitting a daily purchase of 80 liters, while lorries with 10 wheels can obtain 60 liters per day, and those with six wheels can purchase 45 liters daily. The move comes in response to a severe shortage of fuel supplies across the state, aiming to manage resources effectively amidst the ongoing crisis.
