Aguli 11-01-23: The Chief Minister Professor Dr Manik Saha was seen in a different role where a Critical dental operation was successfully done by him on Wednesday. It was in the Tripura Medical College that a 10 year old Child viz Akshit Ghosh was being treated by him.
This operation has shown that beside being the top most administrative personnel of the state, Chief Minister Professor Dr Manik Saha today reminded everyone that he is one the top notch Dentist of the state as well. According to the father of Akshit Ghosh, Sukanta Ghosh said that he was asked to go out of the state for operation but he instead met Dr. Manik Saha and this is where he decided to take matter in his own hand and performed the operation himself with full responsibility.
He is also the Health Minister and has always tried to make sure that the health facility of the state becomes better. Before being the Chief Minister he used to work in TMC and he on this day did an operation of Oral Cystic Lesion.
It is after some time that Dr Manik Saha was seen in his old form and it was a team of doctors who were led by him. While addressing the media personnel he said that although it was after a longtime that an operation was done by him but he was not feeling any different and the old colleagues were also present with him.
Akshit has been kept under observation and will be released on Thursday. The other doctors present with him were Dr Amitlal Goswami, Dr Puja Debnath along with Baishali Saha, Smita Pal and Kanchan Das of Dental and Maxilofacial Surgery along with few others. Paramita Das, Kangchai Chaudhury and Aditi Bhattacharya of Anesthesia Department were also present along with them.
Dr. Manik Saha completed his BDS degree from Patna Government Dental College and then completed Oral and Maxofacial Surgery which is MDS from King George’s Medical College of Uttar Pradesh. He has always done his duty properly and has garnered a lot of praise and accolades when he has worked in TMC where he was the Departmental head of Dental Surgery Department in the hospital.
He was conferred with lifetime Achievement award from Indian Dental Association and from the State government because of his exceptional work. During his professional Career he was known as a gentleman and he has also dedicated himself to provide proper health service to the people of the state earlier as well.
Sukanta Ghosh was absolutely overjoyed and grateful to the Chief Minister Manik Saha after the operation. He added that the Election is very near and the Chief Minister is absolutely busy with the campaigning programme but despite the same what he has done is something extraordinary and he and his family members will always remain grateful to him.
