Tripura,09 October 2026: As part of the ongoing Bir Bikram Ekta Camp / Special National Integration Camp (SNIC–I), Agartala 2026–27, organised by the 13 Tripura Battalion NCC under the aegis of the NCC Directorate, North Eastern Region, approximately 400 NCC cadets participated in a series of educational, cultural, recreational and motivational activities aimed at promoting national integration, broadening knowledge and developing leadership qualities.
The day featured educational visits to Albert Ekka Park, Heritage Park and Science City in Agartala, providing cadets with valuable opportunities to explore Tripura’s historical heritage, cultural diversity, scientific developments and natural environment. These visits encouraged curiosity, learning and a deeper appreciation of the region’s rich traditions and progress.
The cadets also visited the Assam Rifles for a special movie screening and an opportunity to gain insights into the valour, discipline, dedication and service ethos of the Armed Forces. The experience inspired the young cadets to strengthen their sense of patriotism, responsibility and commitment to national service.
As part of their cultural exposure, the cadets visited Purbasha, a renowned centre for Tripura’s traditional handicrafts and handloom products. They explored the region’s rich artistic heritage, indigenous craftsmanship and cultural traditions. The visit highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting local arts, crafts and the livelihoods of traditional artisans.
The programme also included visits to Polo Tower and local markets in Agartala, offering cadets an opportunity to experience the city’s local lifestyle, commercial activities and cultural environment. These outings provided a refreshing break from the camp’s regular training schedule while encouraging interaction, observation and a better understanding of local society.
The day’s activities successfully combined education, science, heritage, cultural exploration, recreation and military awareness, reflecting the core objectives of the Special National Integration Camp. With cadets representing different states and cultural backgrounds, the programme fostered mutual understanding, friendship, camaraderie and the spirit of “Unity in Diversity.”
The Bir Bikram Ekta Camp (SNIC–I), Agartala 2026–27, continues to provide a meaningful platform for young NCC cadets to develop discipline, confidence, leadership, cultural awareness and a strong sense of national unity. Through such enriching experiences, the camp reinforces the ideals of patriotism, national integration and service to the nation.
