Agartala, Oct 9 : Tripura minister Sudhangshu Das on Friday reviewed the implementation of welfare schemes and development projects in Khowai district, emphasising timely delivery of benefits to eligible beneficiaries and expeditious execution of ongoing initiatives.
The district-level review meeting was held at the conference hall of the Khowai District Magistrate’s office and attended by officials of the Animal Resources Development Department, Fisheries Department and Scheduled Caste Welfare Department.
Das, who oversees the three departments, assessed the progress of various welfare schemes and development programmes being implemented during the 2026-27 financial year.
During the meeting, the minister examined whether beneficiaries enrolled under different government programmes were receiving assistance, services and other benefits within the stipulated timeframe.
The discussions focused on strengthening grassroots-level monitoring and ensuring that welfare initiatives reach their intended recipients without unnecessary delays, officials said.
Representatives of the three departments presented updates on ongoing schemes, development projects and their implementation status. Das reviewed the reports and discussed measures to improve programme delivery and the effectiveness of public services.
Particular emphasis was placed on identifying administrative bottlenecks, strengthening interdepartmental coordination and resolving procedural issues that could delay assistance to eligible beneficiaries.
The minister also held detailed discussions with officials on measures to accelerate development projects being implemented by the three departments across Khowai district.
He stressed the importance of completing projects within the prescribed timelines and ensuring effective supervision so that government initiatives deliver their intended benefits to residents.
The meeting underscored the need for administrative efficiency, regular monitoring and accountability in implementing welfare schemes and development programmes.
Officials were asked to maintain close coordination and strengthen field-level supervision to identify implementation challenges and take timely corrective measures.
The review also examined the pace of ongoing projects and the need to ensure effective utilisation of resources allocated under various schemes.
Timely execution of development initiatives and efficient delivery of public assistance were identified as key priorities for the departments during the current financial year.
The meeting concluded with an emphasis on strengthening oversight of departmental programmes and improving the delivery of public services across Khowai district.
The review forms part of the state government’s efforts to monitor welfare schemes, improve administrative coordination and accelerate development activities during the 2026-27 financial year.
