Tripura, 22 Sep 2026: A heinous incident of rape of a 14-year-old minor girl in the D.M. Colony area of M****ga Panchayat under Teliamura Police Station has sparked intense outrage and tension across the entire region. The gruesome crime took place on the afternoon of September 19, 2026. The matter came to the notice of the All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) and the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), Teliamura Divisional Committee, through various sources.
It has been learned that following the incident, the family of the minor girl filed a specific complaint at Teliamura Police Station. Acting swiftly on the complaint, the Teliamura Police arrested the accused. Subsequently, the police produced the accused before the Khowai District Court.
Upon receiving news of the incident, a joint delegation of the All India Democratic Women’s Association and the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) visited to stand beside the victim’s family and to gather information about the incident. The two left-wing youth and women’s organizations have strongly demanded a fair and impartial investigation into this heinous crime from the administration. At the same time, the leaders have demanded that strict and exemplary punishment be ensured for the arrested accused.
Those present in the delegation included Gayatri Dutta, a leader of the State Committee of the All India Democratic Women’s Association; Prabha Das Bhowmik, President of the Teliamura Divisional Committee of the women’s organization; Jharna Debbarma, a leader of the District Committee; and Mamata Das, a leader of the Teliamura Divisional Committee. Also present on behalf of the youth organization DYFI were Ardhendu Ghosh, Secretary of the Teliamura Divisional Committee; Biswajit Bhowmik, President of the organization; and Rajesh Deb, a member of the Divisional Committee.
The leaders of the organizations have clearly stated that social crimes of this nature will not be tolerated in the area under any circumstances. They affirm that they will continue their fight until the victimized minor girl receives speedy justice, and they will keep a strict watch on the progress of the police investigation.
