Agartala, SEPTEMBER 8: The BJP is preparing to use its month-long nationwide ‘Seva Sankalp’ campaign as an organisational exercise aimed at improving coordination among party workers and strengthening its public outreach, national general secretary and MP Biplab Kumar Deb said on Tuesday.
Announcing the programme at the BJP state office in Agartala, Deb said the campaign would be implemented across the country with responsibilities distributed among party leaders and workers. Its progress will be monitored through the organisation at both state and central levels.
The initiative comes after a two-day seminar at the BJP headquarters, where workers were briefed on the campaign’s objectives, structure and implementation strategy. According to Deb, preparations for the programme have already been completed following consultations within the party.
A key component of ‘Seva Sankalp’ will be regular interaction between party workers and people at the local level. Deb said workers would be encouraged to remain aware of issues in their respective areas and strengthen communication with the public.
He stressed that organisational strength depends on workers having direct experience of local realities. Citing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s political career, Deb said his years of work within the party organisation had given him an understanding of grassroots concerns before he assumed the country’s highest political office.
“When a worker rises from the booth level to the top, he carries with him a direct understanding of grassroots realities. That experience becomes invaluable for the entire organization,” Deb said.
The BJP leader asked workers to view the campaign as a sustained organisational responsibility rather than a short-term outreach programme. He said continued public engagement would help workers understand local concerns while strengthening links between the party’s grassroots network and senior leadership.
The campaign will also involve coordination between state, district and local-level functionaries. Designated leaders will supervise activities in their respective areas, while senior party leadership will review the progress of the programme during its month-long run.
Deb expressed confidence that participation by workers across states would provide fresh momentum to the organisation and reinforce the BJP’s emphasis on public service.
The party is positioning ‘Seva Sankalp’ as an effort to combine organisational consolidation with direct engagement with citizens, with its implementation expected to extend across different levels of the BJP’s nationwide network.
