Haldwani woman’s hair measures an astonishing 8 feet 10 inches, surpassing previous record holder Alia Nasirova
Uttarakhand, 08 August 2026: An Indian woman from Haldwani, Uttarakhand, has created a remarkable world record with her exceptionally long hair. Renu Dhariyal has been recognised by Guinness World Records for having the longest hair on a living person (female), with her hair measuring an astonishing 271.50 cm (8 feet 10 inches).
Renu’s achievement has attracted attention not only because of the extraordinary length of her hair but also because of the dedication and patience behind it. She has spent years growing and maintaining her hair as part of a routine rooted in natural care.
Speaking about her experience, Renu said, “I spend hours washing and detangling my hair.” She explained that her cultural connection and personal commitment motivated her to continue growing her hair year after year.
According to Renu, her achievement was not the result of expensive salon treatments or miracle hair products. “There are no expensive salon treatments, no miracle products,” she said, highlighting the importance of consistency, patience and a regular natural-care routine.
With her hair measuring 8 feet 10 inches, Renu has surpassed Ukraine’s Alia Nasirova, who previously held the record for the longest hair on a living person (female).
