Agartala, July 31: A woman Sub-Inspector posted at Airport Police Station, W/SI (UB) Jamuna Roy, has been placed under suspension by the West Tripura Police following strict directions from the Tripura High Court over alleged negligence in the discharge of official duties.
According to the suspension order issued by the Superintendent of Police, West Tripura, departmental proceedings have been initiated against Jamuna Roy over allegations of gross misconduct, intimidation, abuse of official position, and willful negligence of duty.

The action stems from a complaint filed by Lipika Lodh, who alleged that Airport Police Station failed to register her complaint/FIR and that she was subjected to assault and intimidation.
The suspension order, issued under Rule 10(1) of the Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1965, states that Jamuna Roy has been placed under suspension with effect from the afternoon of July 29, 2026, pending departmental inquiry.
During the suspension period, her headquarters will remain at A.D. Nagar Police Lines under the control of the Assistant Commandant, DAR (West), and she will receive subsistence allowance as per government rules.
The suspension follows the High Court’s strong observations regarding alleged negligence in performing official duties, reinforcing accountability within the police department while the inquiry is underway.
