Agartala, July 26: A mysterious death inside Bishalgarh Central Jail has raised serious questions after an inmate, Pranab Kumar Pal, died on Sunday morning under circumstances that remain unclear.
Pranab Kumar Pal, a resident of Camp Bazar in Agartala, was rushed to GB Pant Hospital after his condition deteriorated. Doctors declared him dead, and his body has been kept in the hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination.
The incident has left the victim’s family shocked. They said they had met Pranab at the jail on Saturday afternoon and spent time talking with him. According to them, he was in good health and showed no signs of illness.
Rejecting the possibility of a natural death, the family has alleged that Pranab was intentionally killed inside the prison. They have demanded a fair and impartial investigation to uncover the truth and bring those responsible to justice.
The exact cause of death will be known only after the post-mortem report is released. Authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the inmate’s death.
