Tripura Revenue Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Wednesday inaugurated the newly constructed office building of the Ranirbazar Revenue Circle under the Jirania Sub-Division, highlighting the state government’s continued focus on strengthening administrative infrastructure and improving the delivery of public services.
Speaking at the inaugural function, the Minister said that government offices in the past often operated with inadequate infrastructure and poor working conditions, affecting the efficiency of public service delivery. He noted that since assuming office, the present government has undertaken sustained efforts to modernise government establishments, upgrade administrative infrastructure, and make governance more transparent, efficient and citizen-centric.
Describing the new office building as more than just an administrative facility, Chowdhury said it reflects the government’s commitment to providing faster, easier and more effective services to people at their doorstep. He expressed confidence that the upgraded infrastructure would significantly improve both the working environment for government employees and the overall experience of citizens visiting the office for various administrative services.
According to the Minister, the new building is equipped with improved amenities that will facilitate smoother functioning of the Revenue Circle and ensure quicker processing of official work. The enhanced infrastructure is expected to increase the speed, transparency and efficiency of administrative operations while enabling better coordination among officials.
On the occasion, Minister Chowdhury also distributed 130 work orders under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) 2.0 for the construction of houses. Under the scheme, each beneficiary will receive financial assistance of Rs. 2.5 lakh from the government to build a permanent home.
In another welfare initiative, loans amounting to Rs. 37.30 lakh were sanctioned to six Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to support livelihood generation and promote economic self-reliance among rural communities. The financial assistance is expected to strengthen income-generating activities and empower women associated with SHGs.
The Minister also distributed various welfare benefits among local fishermen as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the fisheries sector and improve the socio-economic conditions of fishing communities.
The programme reflected the state government’s emphasis on infrastructure development, rural housing, financial inclusion and livelihood promotion, while reinforcing its commitment to delivering efficient governance and expanding welfare initiatives across Tripura.
