Agartala, July 9: Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) and Communications Jyotiraditya M. Scindia will participate virtually in the inaugural session of the Destination Tripura: Business Conclave 2026 after his scheduled visit to Tripura was cancelled due to unavoidable circumstances.
According to officials, the Minister’s planned visit to Agartala was called off at the last moment. However, he will deliver the keynote address through video conferencing from New Delhi, ensuring his participation in the state’s flagship investment promotion event.
Scindia was originally scheduled to attend the two-day conclave as the chief guest. During the virtual session, he is also expected to interact with industrialists, investors, entrepreneurs and policymakers participating in the event.
The Destination Tripura: Business Conclave 2026 aims to position Tripura as an emerging investment destination in the Northeast by attracting domestic and international investments. The summit will showcase opportunities across key sectors, including infrastructure, agriculture, tourism, information technology, logistics and manufacturing, while promoting industrial growth and employment generation.
State government officials said the conclave is expected to facilitate meaningful engagement between government agencies and the business community, leading to fresh investment proposals and strengthening Tripura’s industrial and commercial ecosystem. They expressed confidence that the event will lay the foundation for sustained economic development in the state.
Despite the cancellation of the Minister’s physical visit, officials said his virtual participation will ensure the smooth conduct of the conclave and maintain its significance as one of Tripura’s major investment outreach initiatives. The two-day event is expected to bring together policymakers, industry leaders and investors to explore business opportunities and partnerships for the state’s long-term growth.
