Tripura, July 5, 2026: An Anti-Drugs Awareness Programme was organized by CHINI NOK at Marachara village under Kamalpur subdivision in Tripura’s Dhalai district on Sunday, with the objective of raising awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and encouraging a healthy, drug-free society.
The programme commenced with villagers taking a collective pledge to make Marachara a drug-free village. Participants vowed to work together to prevent substance abuse and support those striving for a better future.

A key attraction of the event was an interactive group discussion involving local youths, Self-Help Group (SHG) members, and village elders. During the session, participants shared their concerns about the growing threat of drug addiction and discussed preventive measures, early intervention, and community support systems for affected individuals.
Addressing the gathering, speakers from CHINI NOK emphasized that drug addiction destroys lives, families, and the future of young people. They urged the youth to stay away from drugs, focus on education, sports, and sustainable livelihoods, and become ambassadors of drug abuse prevention within their families and communities.
The awareness programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from local residents, including youths, women, and community leaders. CHINI NOK expressed gratitude to the villagers for their active support and reaffirmed its commitment to organizing similar anti-drug awareness campaigns across Dhalai district to build safer and healthier communities.
