Football Tournament & Anti-Drug Awareness Drive Inspires Village Youths in Gomati
Tripura, 04 July 2026: In a bid to promote sports and spread awareness against drug abuse among rural youths, the Bamboo Forum of Tripura organized a Football Games & Drug Awareness Programme at Molsom Para, Tulamura under Udaipur in Gomati district on Saturday.
The programme commenced with an exciting football match featuring teams from nearby villages, drawing enthusiastic participation from local youths and residents. The sporting event was followed by an awareness session highlighting the harmful effects of drug addiction and the importance of adopting a healthy, disciplined lifestyle through sports and education.
Resource persons addressed the gathering, emphasizing that sports play a vital role in keeping young people away from substance abuse while fostering teamwork, discipline, and self-confidence.
To encourage continued participation in sports, the Bamboo Forum of Tripura distributed footballs, sports jerseys, and other sports materials to the participating teams. The winning team was also awarded a cash prize of ₹10,000, recognizing their outstanding performance and motivating aspiring footballers in the region.
Speaking on the occasion, representatives of the Bamboo Forum of Tripura said that channeling the energy of young people into sports is one of the most effective ways to combat the growing menace of drug abuse.
