Agartala, April 25: A joint team of the Cyber Crime Branch, Central Intelligence Bureau (IB), and West Bengal Police conducted a raid at a rented house in the Joynagar Yubasamaj area, located at the residence of Ranjit Thakur.
According to sources, a West Bengal resident identified as Ripu Sarkar was living as a tenant in the house. During the raid, police recovered SIM boxes from his rented room. These devices are typically used to route international calls and are often linked to various cyber and financial crimes.
Authorities seized three SIM boxes containing a total of 64 SIM cards. Officials stated that such SIM box setups are commonly used in large-scale illegal operations, including fraudulent call activities and other organized cybercrimes.
Further investigation is currently underway.
