South Tripura, Apr 24. Santirbazar District Hospital in South Tripura is on track to receive national-level quality recognition under the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS), with a central assessment team from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare expected to visit shortly.
The team will conduct a final evaluation of the hospital’s healthcare services, infrastructure, patient care systems, and overall management as part of the certification process.
Ahead of the visit, a preparatory meeting was held at the district hospital on Friday. The meeting was attended by South Tripura District Magistrate Mohammad Saju Vaheed, Chief Medical Officer of the district Dr. J.M. Das, Medical Officer Dr. J.S. Reang, along with other administrative and health officials.
Officials emphasized strengthening service delivery, improving discipline in operations, and enhancing patient-friendly facilities to meet NQAS benchmarks.
According to the administration, achieving NQAS certification would grant the hospital national recognition for quality standards and significantly boost healthcare services in the region. The initiative is also aimed at transforming Shantirbazar District Hospital into a model patient-centric healthcare institution.
