Agartala, Apr 03. A notable humanitarian gesture ahead of the upcoming ADC elections, IPFT candidate Jitiram Tripura has fulfilled a commitment made during his campaign by helping rebuild a dilapidated house for a distressed family in the 26-Birchandranagar-Kalsi constituency.
The initiative took place at Suryabari Para, where Tripura had earlier encountered the family of Shefali Debbarma Tripura, a mother of three living in extremely poor conditions. Moved by their situation, he chose to extend support without making any formal electoral promise.
On Friday, with the assistance of Youth IPFT Central Committee Advisory Chairman Manik Tripura and party workers, the family’s broken structure was replaced with a newly constructed tin-roofed house, making it suitable for living.
According to local sources, the family had long been struggling due to the absence of a separate ration card, despite being listed under a BPL category. Their previous government-allotted house is occupied by another family member, leaving them in hardship.
Residents have praised Jitiram Tripura’s consistent involvement in social welfare activities, stating that he has always stood by the people even before entering the electoral fray. His recent initiative has further strengthened public trust and earned widespread appreciation across the area.
Locals say his approach reflects a commitment to serve people beyond political rhetoric, focusing instead on real action during times of need.
