Udaipur, Feb 27: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has expressed strong confidence about returning to power in the 2028 Tripura Assembly elections. State BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee on Friday asserted that there is “no force in the state” capable of stopping the party’s victory.
Addressing a one-day special convention of page pramukhs (booth-level workers) at Chandrapur Balika Vidyalaya ground under the Matabari Assembly constituency in Udaipur, Bhattacharjee claimed that opposition parties have become politically irrelevant since 2018. Without naming them directly, he said the Left and the Congress are “on the path to extinction.”
Referring to the Rose Valley chit fund scam, he remarked that people of the state are aware of past events and have consistently supported development-oriented governance.
The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Bhattacharjee. Among others present were local MLA Abhishek Debroy, BJP general secretary Uttam Deb, Gomati district BJP president Sabita Nag, MDC Samrat Jamatia, and page pramukhs from 63 booths under the Mata Bari constituency, along with party leaders and elected representatives.
MLA Abhishek Debroy stressed strengthening the party’s grassroots structure, calling page pramukhs the “key drivers” of organisational success. He urged each worker to visit at least five households daily, listen to public grievances, and report them to party leadership. Direct engagement with people, he said, will be crucial for electoral success in 2028.
Speakers at the convention called for intensifying booth-level activities, expanding organisational strength, and ensuring outreach across all sections of society. Bhattacharjee appealed to party workers to remain united and work collectively to sustain the state’s development trajectory and further strengthen public trust.
The day-long programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from party workers, who pledged to reinforce the organisation ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
