New Delhi, February 26, 2026: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has successfully coordinated the return of a wanted fugitive, Anil Kumar Reddy Yeddula, from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) through Interpol channels.
According to an official press release, Anil Kumar Reddy Yeddula was a Red Notice subject and was wanted by the Andhra Pradesh Police in connection with several cases involving cheating, criminal breach of trust, and criminal intimidation.
The International Police Cooperation Unit (IPCU) of the CBI, in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the National Central Bureau (NCB) in Abu Dhabi, facilitated the return of the accused. He was brought back to India on February 26, 2026.
Officials stated that Yeddula was escorted by a team of Dubai Police and arrived at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad from Dubai. Upon arrival, he was handed over to the Andhra Pradesh Police team at the airport.
CBI further informed that multiple cases have been registered against the accused in Andhra Pradesh on allegations of financial fraud and intimidation. A Red Notice against him had been issued by Interpol on September 5, 2022, at the request of Andhra Pradesh Police.
Authorities in the UAE had earlier arrested Yeddula, following which the process for his extradition to India was initiated and completed through coordinated efforts between agencies.
The agency also highlighted that Red Notices issued by Interpol are circulated globally among law enforcement agencies to track wanted criminals. As India’s National Central Bureau for Interpol, the CBI works closely with domestic and international agencies through the BHARATPOL network.
In recent years, more than 130 wanted criminals have been brought back to India through coordinated efforts via Interpol channels, the statement added.
