Agartala, Feb 24: The Tripura Police has announced its annual awards for 2025, recognising outstanding officers, police stations, battalions and districts for excellence in service, investigation, administration and adoption of modern policing practices.
According to official communications issued by the Director General of Police, the awards, including the prestigious Chief Minister’s Medal and “Best Unit” honours, will be presented at a formal ceremony at M.R. Debbarma Smriti Stadium, A.D. Nagar, Agartala, on February 25.
Selected officers have also been instructed to attend a rehearsal on February 23 and to appear in ceremonial dress with full medals, peak cap and cross belt during the award presentation ceremony.
Among individual awardees, Shri Sunil Gupta of 15th Battalion TSR and Smt. Arpita Deb of Police Headquarters have been selected as “Best Clerical Staff of the Year 2025” in their respective categories. Sub-Inspector Subhajit Deb of Battala TOP under West District has been named “Investigator of the Year,” while SDPO Dharmanagar Shri Jayanta Karmakar has been honoured as “Policeman of the Year.”
In the category of police stations, Sabroom Police Station in South Tripura has been adjudged the best in the use of technology, while Kailashahar Police Station in Unakoti district has been recognised for the best beat system. Sonamura Police Station in Sepahijala district has been declared the “Best Police Station of the Year 2025.”
At the district level, North Tripura has been awarded for the best beat system, while West Tripura has been adjudged the “Best District of the Year.” The Tripura Police Crime Branch has been recognised as the “Best Unit” in the use of technology.
The 7th Battalion TSR has been selected as the “Best TSR Battalion 2025” for its operational excellence and discipline.
A total of 14 officers and personnel from various units have also been selected for the Chief Minister’s Medal. The list includes senior IPS officers, district police officials and TSR personnel, reflecting a broad spectrum of contributions to policing in the state.
Officials said the awards aim to promote professionalism, efficiency and the use of technology in policing, while motivating personnel to deliver better public service.
