Tripura, Feb 23: Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma on Sunday visited the under-construction modern synthetic football ground at Lembuchhara under Teliamura Subdivision to review the progress of the project.
During the inspection, the Minister, accompanied by senior officials of the department and concerned engineers, assessed the ongoing construction work on the spot and took detailed updates on various aspects of the project.
Emphasising quality and timely completion, Debbarma directed the authorities to ensure that the construction adheres to proper technical standards and is completed within the stipulated timeframe without compromising quality. He also stressed the importance of future maintenance of the facility, including adequate lighting arrangements, proper drainage systems, and necessary infrastructure for players.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the modern synthetic turf football ground will provide a quality sporting environment for the youth of the area. He noted that the facility will enable young players to practice regularly and help in the development of their physical fitness, mental strength, and leadership skills.
He further highlighted the role of sports in steering youth away from substance abuse and social evils, encouraging them towards a positive and disciplined lifestyle. The Minister also pointed out that the development of modern sports infrastructure can open up new avenues for economic activities in the region.
The visit reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening sports infrastructure and promoting youth engagement through constructive activities across the state.
