South Tripura, Feb 22: The CT scan machine at Santirbazar District Hospital has reportedly remained out of order for nearly three months, causing severe inconvenience to patients and raising fresh concerns over healthcare services in the region.
Patients requiring urgent diagnostic imaging are being referred to hospitals in other districts, leading to delays in treatment and additional financial burden on families. In critical cases, the absence of immediate CT scan facilities has heightened anxiety among relatives, as timely diagnosis often plays a decisive role in patient outcomes.
Local residents allege that despite the prolonged breakdown, no visible or permanent repair initiative has been undertaken. They claim the continued malfunction of such an essential diagnostic facility contradicts broader claims of significant improvements in the state’s healthcare infrastructure.
The situation has sparked dissatisfaction among the public, with many questioning the efficiency of hospital management and maintenance systems. However, hospital authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the cause of the breakdown or a timeline for restoration.
Residents have urged the administration to take immediate steps to repair the machine and restore full diagnostic services at the earliest.
