Agartala, February 22: The Teachers’ Recruitment Board, Tripura (TRBT) has issued a major recruitment notification for a total of 2,056 teaching posts under the Education (School) Department, Government of Tripura. The vacancies include 1,036 posts for Under Graduate Teachers (UGT) for Classes I–V and 1,020 posts for Graduate Teachers (GT) for Classes VI–VIII.
According to the official notification, the posts are permanent in nature, with a probation period of two years. The recruitment aims to strengthen the elementary education system across the state.
Application Schedule:
Online applications will be accepted from February 23, 2026 (4:00 PM) to February 26, 2026 (4:00 PM). Candidates must submit their applications through the official website of TRBT at www.trb.tripura.gov.in.
Eligibility Criteria:
For UGT (Classes I–V), candidates must have passed Higher Secondary or its equivalent with the required percentage along with a Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) or equivalent qualification. Additionally, passing Tripura Teachers’ Eligibility Test (T-TET) Paper-I is mandatory.
For GT (Classes VI–VIII), candidates must hold a graduate degree with B.Ed. or equivalent qualification. Passing T-TET Paper-II is compulsory for eligibility.
Knowledge of Bengali or Kokborok is considered desirable. Applicants must also possess a Permanent Resident Certificate of Tripura (PRTC).
Reservation and Relaxation:
The notification provides for 33 percent horizontal reservation for women candidates. A relaxation of up to 5 percent in qualifying marks is applicable for candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PH categories, as per government norms.
Application Fee:
The application fee has been fixed at ₹100 for unreserved category candidates and ₹50 for SC/ST/PH candidates. The fee must be paid online within the stipulated time.
Selection Process:
Selection will be based on a weightage system totaling 100 marks. Academic qualifications, professional qualifications, and performance in T-TET will be considered, with the T-TET score carrying the highest weightage of 70 marks.
Document Verification:
A limited number of candidates, based on merit and vacancies, will be shortlisted for document verification. Candidates must produce original certificates and relevant documents during the scrutiny process.
