Dharmanagar, Feb 16. A one-day district-level philatelic exhibition titled “DHARMAPEX-2026” was successfully organised by the Dharmanagar Postal Division at the Vivekananda Sardha Shatabarshiki Bhavan on Monday, showcasing as many as 6,400 postage stamps and attracting enthusiastic participation from students and stamp lovers.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Suman Adhikari, Principal of Dharmanagar Government College. Among others present were Pradip Majumdar, Superintendent of the Dharmanagar Postal Division, and Assistant Director Sushanta Deb.
Addressing the gathering, Superintendent Pradip Majumdar said the primary objective of the district-level exhibition was to display rare and commemorative stamps that reflect the nation’s history, culture and heritage. Special stamps related to India’s freedom movement drew significant attention from visitors. Stamps issued in memory of eminent personalities were also featured.
The programme also included a letter-writing competition for students and a cultural segment, adding vibrancy to the event. Organisers expressed hope that such initiatives would inspire the younger generation to take interest in stamp collection and enhance their educational knowledge through philately.
The exhibition witnessed notable participation from students, making the event both informative and engaging.
