Dharmanagar: Feb 09. A five-day basic training programme under the Foundation Course for Civil Defence volunteers commenced today at the Vivekananda Sardha Shatabarshiki Bhavan in Dharmanagar.
The programme was formally inaugurated by North Tripura Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Aparna Nath. Dharmanagar Municipal Council Chairperson Mitali Rani Das Sen, Assistant District Magistrate L. Darlong, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Debjani Chowdhury, District Civil Defence Officer (DCM) Jiniyas Debbarma, and Master Trainer Sanjeeb Das were present on the occasion.
According to officials, a total of 105 Civil Defence volunteers will receive training during the five-day programme. The training focuses on the proper use of disaster management equipment and effective response strategies during emergencies.
The objective of the programme is to equip volunteers with practical skills and preparedness to respond swiftly and efficiently during natural or man-made disasters.
Authorities expressed confidence that the trained volunteers will play a crucial role in disaster response and public safety in the future.
