Tripura, 02 Feb 2026: The College of Fisheries, Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal, Lembucherra, Tripura, inaugurated a six-month Certificate Course on “Interactive Learning Techniques for Modern Classroom & Communication” on 02 February 2026. The programme is a unique academic initiative within the CAU (Imphal) system, aimed at strengthening pedagogic/andragogic skills and effective communication in higher education. The course will be conducted in hybrid mode, combining online sessions through Google Meet with practical exposure in the on-campus Language Laboratory.
Designed for beginners and intermediate learners, the programme is open to faculty members, scientists, extension professionals, research scholars, and students (UG, PG, and Ph.D.) from Agricultural Sciences, Basic Sciences, Humanities, and Social Sciences. Around 35 participants have enrolled, indicating strong academic interest across disciplines. The inaugural programme began with a welcome address by Prof. Anil D. Upadhyay, Head, Department of Fisheries Extension, Economics and Statistics, who highlighted the importance of interactive and learner-centric teaching approaches. This was followed by a brief introduction of the course by Dr. Amitava Ghosh, Course Instructor, who outlined its objectives and relevance in the context of digital-first academic interaction. Mr. Y. Jackie Singh, Course Instructor, coordinated an interactive session with participants. Prof. Arun B. Patel, Dean, College of Fisheries, appreciated the initiative and emphasized the need for innovative teaching tools to enhance classroom effectiveness, while highlighting the utility and practical relevance of the course.


The programme was virtually inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Prof. Indira Sarangthem, Director of Instruction, CAU, Imphal. She described the course as a timely intervention for quality and skill-based education, congratulated the Dean and organizing team, and acknowledged the guidance and support of Dr. Anupam Mishra, Vice-Chancellor, CAU (Imphal).
The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Biswajit Lahiri, Course Convener, followed by the National Anthem.
