Agartala, Nov 20: Three people, including a driver and two assistants, were killed when a mini truck crashed into the Agartala–Silchar Express at an unauthorised railway crossing in the Ambasa–Manu section on Thursday.
Officials said the truck suddenly entered the track on Thursday afternoon, which led the fatal collision. The train resumed its journey after the damaged vehicle was cleared.
N.F. Railway stated that the crossing is illegal and repeated attempts to close it faced local resistance.
GRP SP Kishore Debbarma termed the incident a case of negligence and stated that the truck was hired by ONGC.
