Tripura, 20 Nov 2025: In a major operation, the Forest Department recovered 120 cubic feet of illegally stocked timber from a residence in Khamartilla under Laxminarayanpur Panchayat, Kalyanpur Police Station area of Khowai subdivision on Thursday.
According to reports, acting on credible information, a team of forest officials led by DFO Ashutosh Kumar conducted a sudden raid at the house and seized the illegally stored timber. The estimated market value of the seized wood is around ₹2 lakh.
The confiscated timber has been transported to the Padmabil Range Office of the Forest Department. Officials confirmed that legal action will be initiated as per the department’s procedures.
