Agartala: Nov 14. The NDA appears set for a sweeping victory in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, surging past the 180-seat mark as trends continue to pour in from the Election Commission’s official portals. With the majority requirement at 121 in the 243-member House, the ruling alliance has moved well beyond the halfway point, firmly placing itself in the driver’s seat.
Live updates on eciresults.nic.in, results.eci.gov.in, and eci.gov.in show the NDA maintaining a strong and steady lead over the Mahagathbandhan, in line with exit polls that had already hinted at an emphatic mandate. The ECI will release the final results later in the day, but the early numbers leave little doubt about the direction in which the verdict is headed.

What adds weight to this election is Bihar’s historic turnout of 67.13%, the highest recorded since 1951. Both sides had claimed the heightened participation played to their advantage; however, the trends suggest the momentum has tilted heavily toward the NDA. Over the past 17 Assembly elections, five instances have shown that a spike in turnout often precedes a change in government a pattern many analysts flagged ahead of the counting.
The two-phase polls, conducted on November 4 and 9, recorded impressive participation of 65.08% and 69.20% respectively. As counting progresses, several heavyweight seats are drawing particular attention — among them Raghopur, where Tejashwi Yadav is battling BJP’s Satish Kumar Yadav; Mahua, where Tej Pratap Yadav’s new outfit JJD is testing its strength against RJD’s Mukesh Kumar Raushan; Lakhisarai, where Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha is up against Jan Suraaj’s Suraj Kumar and Congress’ Amaresh Kumar; and Tarapur, where Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary faces RJD’s Arun Kumar and Jan Suraaj’s Santosh Kumar Singh.
With the NDA widening its gap across constituencies, the Mahagathbandhan is struggling to make significant gains, even in pockets it traditionally commands. As the ECI continues releasing fresh trends, voters can keep track of real-time developments on the Commission’s dedicated websites.
