Agartala: Nov 12. Tripura’s Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma has issued a strong warning to all wardens and school authorities under the department’s ST hostels, Ashram schools, and Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) following shocking findings during recent inspections.
Debbarma mentioned he found mobile phones, chargers, intoxicants, and other prohibited items in several institutions, during his unannounced visits, exposing serious lapses in supervision, discipline, and moral environment.
Expressing deep concern, Minister Debbarma said the situation is completely unacceptable and a clear indication of negligence by some wardens and school management. He emphasized that these institutions are meant to shape disciplined, value-based citizens, not to become spaces of indiscipline and misconduct. The minister made it clear that from now on, any such violation will lead to strict administrative action against the responsible wardens or school heads.
Minister Debbarma has directed all school authorities to strengthen internal monitoring, ensure continuous vigilance within hostels, and maintain a healthy educational atmosphere. Parents have also been urged to remain attentive to their children’s behavior, use of technology, and moral growth.
Minister Bikash Debbarma reiterated that the government’s goal is to build a disciplined, drug-free, and value-oriented education system across all tribal institutions. He warned that negligence, ignorance, or laxity from any responsible authority will no longer be tolerated.
